Carriage Ride to 1864

Imagine an entire city turning back the clock to 1864, transforming itself into the Victorian-era community it once was during the Civil War. Welcome to the Columbus Horse & Carriage Festival, staged annually in Columbus, Wisconsin.

The festival's featured event is the pleasure driving show. Horse and carriage competitions take place on the grounds of the historic Fireman's Park.

Also featured is an encampment of Civil War reenactors, a grand parade of period horse-drawn carriages and Civil War reenactors, the 1st Brigade Band (sponsored by Friends of the Wisconsin Historical Society), period dance, music, women in period clothes, costumed actors and residents, lawn parties, and authentic activities to honor the community's role during the Civil War.

We hope you'll join us Father's Day weekend.

Admission is free.
